Innova Large Breed Puppy. My rottie was on this for the first 2 years. He did great on it, but then he was having ear infections, so we thought maybe he was sensitive to something in the food, so I put him on California Natural, by the same company. He is going great. He did great on the Innova, but it was just his ears. My shih tzu is still on the Innova. They also have the canned, but they don’t need it. 85% of it is water.
dry to enable to help keep his teeth stong an clean
start off with puppy chow..
remember when you switch foods always mix for about a week so they don’t get the runs.
After my older dogs allergies I went to Dick Van Patten’s Natural balance. Corn is very bad for dogs skins..so check the labels..
He has wet and dry…
also when a puppy is 6 months old he is at half his body weight.
Dry food is the best option. As far as "type" you will have to work on that – some dogs do better on certain food bases than others.
i would definately go with a dry food as it is often better for the dog, and beneful, and purina are good brands
give your baby dried food can I ask you why you have a rotty and a shepherd mix have you ever owned a dog.. I have always had shepherd they are excellent in the right hand not loonies,,,,, but can I ask where you are getting this dog can I just pLEASE SAY I hope that you do not have any kids
because if you have no clue about dogs…
Here is a site that will show you which dog foods are the best and the worst. I suggest that you get any one of the dog foods that are top rated.

Most of grocery store dog food formulas, like IAMS, Pedigree, Science Diet, Purina, and etc contain "meat and bone meal" which has been known to contain dead dogs and cats that were euthanized in animal shelters. Their bodies are picked up and bought by the truck load by "rendering plants" , that also pick up road kill, dead live stock, and etc. They are shredded, and boiled. They skim off the fat on the top of the "soup" and collected it and sell it to pet food companies as "animal fat", the rest of the animals’ remains are crushed up, dried and sold to dog and cat food companies as meat and bone meal.
You can read more about it here.

Here is an article where the owner of a rendering plant talks about it. He says that cremating the dead shelter animals would cause pollution, and that rendering them is good.
