How old is the dog? That makes a huge difference. I’m going to assume it’s a teen or adult since you say dog. If not, update and I’ll redo this for a puppy.
First, pick up her food and water. She is to be on a feeding/watering schedule until she’s totally potty trained. Feed her 2-3 times a day and make sure she gets water 5-6 times. No water after 8 PM though so that she won’t have to pee at night (7 PM if you go to bed before 10 PM).
Put her on leash and tie her to your waist. She is to go where you go when inside so she has no chance to pee. If you’re not home, put her in a dog crate. Let her out IMMEDIATELY upon getting home. Again, make sure you take her to her water several times throughout the day. Take her out every 1-2 hours (depending on how frequent her accidents inside are) and she is to stay out there until she goes. No playing until she goes. When she goes, give a command (I use ‘go potty’) that will be your potty command for her. Tell her she’s a good girl. Give her a treat and play a game after she is COMPLETELY done. She’ll learn to potty on command this way. You can start letting her off leash and leaving her uncrated when she starts asking to go outside consistently. Your family can and should help with this. It’s frustrating but it CAN be worked with.
Oh, get some Nature’s Miracle and clean the carpets. That will neutralize the odors she’s leaving behind which encourages her to potty in that spot again.
sorry can’t help you on this one..i don’t have a dog. butmaybe your dog is unpleased about the house or he’s more comfortable doing it in the house. O-o
There are many answers to similar questions on this site. You need a good housebreaking program which involves supervision and scheduling. You need to stop her from making mistakes inside consistently until she learns the only place to go is outside. You can do this by crating her, keeping her in your arms or tying her to you with a leash. But don’t put her on the floor and not watch her or she will make mistakes. You’ll probably need the help of all the people in your family for a while- it’s a lot of work to supervise her constantly. When you can’t watch her, the crate is ok if she doesn’t pee in it, otherwise the yard might be better bc she’ll only be able to pee in the right place. Better that she should lose some inside time for a while so that she will eventually have the full run of the house.
