Keep your little baby in a playpen or crate for several days…out to potty as needed. Try Jr. baby foods, chicken and beef broth for nourishment or puppy chow if he’s up to it. Offer plenty of water. Watch his surgery site for redness, swelling, or drainage. For pain relief, 1/2 to 1 plain aspirin or ask your vet about the pain reliever Tramadol or Ultram. Never give canines Tylenol. NSAIDs only if your vet sez it’s OK. Keep the vet’s phone number handy and call if any concerns. Most doggies/cats do very well.
Well, I’d see to it that the dog doesn’t run around to much (gets painkillers if prescribed any), and is nice and comfortable. No wild or rough play for the next few days, and only go on really short walks.
