What is reasonably priced for you? I would say just regular Blue buffalo it is $45 for a large bag, your best bet is to go to
http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/index.php/cat/1
and take a look at there dog food ratings, it goes 1 star to 6 star and 1 star is the worst and 6 star is the best take a look at it and see which one you would rather feed your dog, also you will be able to judge for your self which one would be the better
pedigree puppy porridge it is a decent price
Iams puppy chow
Purina pro plan puppy food. dont buy into that no grain/ really expensive stuff hoopla, yes its good, but if the dog hasnt been brought up on it which most have not its not good for there tummys
Sorry (well not really sorry) but i speak my mind, i feel purina is not that bad i feel its great food.
pedigree, milk kibbles is great, its for growth of puppies from 6-12 months, its gud and reasonably priced
Purina Puppy Chow!
Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. "Vet approved" means they have a vet on staff to approve their product. In other words, someone paid to approve it. Same with foods most vets recommend. Salesmen "gift" vets then the vet recommends the food. Most vets are not nutritionists! Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient. Wellness, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. pedigree for puppies. and get some soft food as well and feed him half a can a day.
I would say Blue Buffalo or Eukanuba but it can be expensive. Purina pro plan or puppy chow is a good food. Iams is good too but if you can id say go with Blue Buffalo or Eukanuba. They sell it at petsmart.
I use Eukanuba. I just switched from Nutro. My vet reccomended it for my dog because he is alergic to Nutro
Wellness Large Breed Puppy
Blue Buffalo is amazing. Otherwise, Nutro Lamb and Rice!
Puppy biscuits, milk, minced meat, gravy, grated greens, bread mixed with gravy and lots of meat.
I use Pedigree. My vet said that it was a good commercial brand. It’s affordable and they have many selections of food for all stages, sizes and lifestyles-puppy, small, active, weight-loss, etc.
You can find it at most pet supply stores as well as Target, WalMart, etc.
They also make treats and canned/wet food.
Check out their website for more info: http://www.pedigree.com/default.aspx
When you start to feed your puppy solid food, make sure he knows how to eat it-sounds funny, but you don’t want him to choke!
Also, when you are feeding him make sure he is learning polite eating manners:
Make him sit or wait a bit of a distance away while you serve him food. He shouldn’t be jumping or pushing on you. No barking either.
Practice taking his food away. Praise him when he is not aggressive and return the food promptly.
Make sure you can stand near or touch him while he eats.
Never tease him with his food.
Have fun with your puppy!!
First of all.. keep him on whatever food he is on and slowly and gradually switch him over to a differend food…. Given the size of the future of the dog and hip displacia issues I would recomend a good quality Adult dog food (if feed puupy food unless it’s large breed puppy food he can grow too fast causing future hip problems).. I fed my German shepherd puppy Adult food (blackwood brand.. not store bought stuff). and a half a can of puppy food every two days… Higher grade foods are more expensive up front but actually cost the same.. It takes close to 6 cups of cheaper food to feed a 100lb dog and only 3 cups of higher calorie better food to feed a 100lb dog… and when 40lb of the cheaper stuff is 27.00 and the good stuff is 41.00, then it is actually a little less to feed the higher grade food…

Solid Gold

Any Natura Brand

Please never use any food from Purina, because they are all crap, and you would never want to feed a pet that you loved the Purina brand. Here is a website partly on Purina:

Never use Science Diet, either. That is a very crappy brand. If your dog is ever sick, the vet will recommend Science Diet. Their Rx diets are Ok for some dogs who need them, but don’t get the regular Science Diet. Here is a website partly on Science Diet:

HOMEMADE/RAW FOOD FOOD IS GOOD:

I feed the raw diet. It is the best you can feed most dogs. I suggest you look into it.

So you can obviously see that something like Wellness is better than something like Purina Dog Chow.

If you ask 10 people you will get 10 different answerers, but if you ask an 11th person the other ten are all wrong.
A dog can survive picking it’s dinner out of the cat litter, so anything is an improvement.
Just find a food that your pup does well on, and don’t worry so much about what others think is best.
I don’t personally care for the Purina Puppy Chow. It is meant to be a low price product that is "adequate", even if just barley.
The Pro-Plan is a far superior product, even tho’ it is made by the same company. You might also look at the Purina ONE line of foods which are basically the same as Pro-plan.
People love to bash the big guy, but there really is a reason that Purina produces more dog food than all other dog foods combined
Any puppy-formula food is great. Don’t use Iams puppy chow though. The puppies don’t eat enough because it makes them feel full.
