I think it’s despicable that you voted for war criminal George W. Bush and still, 40 years later, with the evidence that is available to us, don’t accept that Ted Kennedy’s accident WAS an accident, and that he did try to save her. That he failed is a tragedy. But he was never charged with drunk driving, unlike Bush and Dick Cheney, who are both convicted drunk drivers, as well as war criminals.
Ironic, no sad yes. If you have money and position you can get away with murder. OJ did the same and got away with it.

PS I believe Kennedy committed reckless homicide, or something like it. The facts are not really in dispute. The autopsy showed that the woman was alive for some time – as long as two hours – after the crash. Had Kennedy acted to get help instead of trying to cover up the crime she would probably have been saved.
Chappaquiddick happened when I was little. People were outraged, but there was no investigation or punishment for Ted Kennedy.
Investigations since have put real doubt on anything that comes out of "Senator" Kennedy’s mouth. Since he is an influential lawmaker, I think it is very pertinent to our lives today.
I was also amused when he was on the committee for sexual harassment charges brought by Anita Hill against Clarence Thomas.That was irony.
