Can we ALL have a Portuguese Water Dog from a Rescue Shelter as a Stimulus Gift?
Isn’t it "Noble" of Michelle Obama to want a Rescue dog for the girls. Since any rescue shelter will have a good supply of Portuguese Water Dogs and their grooming, breeding and demeanor just happen to fit their needs – it’s a GO! Only one problem – my wife has wanted one for years but the 00 or more for a standard bred is way out of our price range. Finding one at a rescue shelter would be like finding a 2010 Indy racer in the second row at a used car dealer – selling for . So what do you think of this latest great big lie by the Obama’s.
Maybe they will find a half Portuguese / half Mexican canine & settle for a PorChihuahua.

I thought that same thing. How coincidental that they just "happened" upon a Portuguese Water Dog. Those are incredibly hard to find at a shelter and no one would just dump one off at a shelter.
All of my dogs but one are rescues but they didn’t come from shelters. Obama is all about presenting a certain image. Back to that narcissistic personality again.

I also bet anyone who breeds them has a "second" they would gladly put in a shelter for her and all the photo-ops it would provide. I would. Capitalism.
If they settled for a half Portuguese/half canine then that would be considered a half breed like her husband.
my golden retriever would have a problem. She is a rescue dog.

You and your wife need to look into breed rescue, I have two pure breeds that I got from breed rescue programs. I could care less about Obama’s dog.
