Normally at a year but that depends on the breed.
Your vet will help you with this decision. (A phone call won’t cost you anything.) Also, you can contact your breeder and ask him or her.
Remember, you can’t switch in a day. You’ll need to gradually switch foods over a period of a week.
I switched when my dog was about 1 yr old.
I’m guessing you mean french bulldog, if so, yeah time to change before it starts gaining weight.
Yeah, anytime between about 10 months to a year is good.
Now would be a good time to start adding some adult food and decreasing the puppy food. Start out with about 25% adult food then after a week or so, 50%, etc. until you run out of puppy food.
10 to 14 months is a good time to start. If you keep him on the puppy food he will get too used to it and never want to switch to the adult food.
I was told at 1 yr old..
I think its ok to start changing it now.
You can mix its puppy food with adult food,in its food bowl. and slowly start putting more adult food until its just….adult food. And it will be used to it by then
You can start mixing the puppy food with adult food now, start out with 75% puppy and drop it down every other day or so till your puppy is on adult food.
By mixing the two you wont create an upset stomach on your pup. Sudden change in food without warning can cause massive diarrhea and vomiting.
You should start blending now and get him switched over a couple weeks. Rule of thumb is 12 months for small breeds and 18 months for large breeds.
you can switch him now. after about 7 months is when the shelters change them over.
when you do do the switch on food don’t do it cold turkey i would start mixing in some adult food now with his puppy and then lessen the puppy food daily until you no longer need the puppy food that way you pup doesn’t get sick if you cold turkey him learned the hard way with that. but here are some site that might have better ideals to what i am thinking
