What is the PWD (Portuguese Water Dog) reproducing age?
Umm… this sounds kinda weird, I know, but I am curious because of what my dog just did.
He started to hump his pillow that he sleeps on. Now, I don’t know if it was humping (this is my first dog), but I am fairly sure it was.
I am really worried because I have a 3 year old little brother who often wrestles with him. What if, y’know…? The dog is about 7 months old and we have had him for 5 months and he comes from a breeder.
Furthermore, if you can suggest a way to break him of his habit, that would be most welcome.
I am not trying to be funny (I know that is hard to believe), and I would really appreciate serious answers.
Thank you.

Get him fixed if he isn’t already.
If he’s already fixed, ask the breeder. But if he does it spray him with a water bottle or redirect his attention with a favorite toy.
I hope this helps and dogs (male) start acting this way around 3 months, that is when they are capable of u kno wat. =)
GOOD LUCK
oaky if you have to aask these questions then you really need to get to a good trainer and learn what the heck you are doing with dogs and how to handle.. good luck.
Take him to a training class, and get him neutered. I suggest trainign classes to all first-time dog owners. Google "kennel club" along with your state, then select one near you. Contact them to find out about trainers in your area.
humping is a common thing dogs do for different reasons . PWD are a dominant breed and sometimes dogs hump you to show they are the leader. But sometimes dogs hump each other as an acceptance to the pack. Confusing i no lol but i think you are dealing with just a dominant puppy thing, i would recommend neutering, it would stop humping, leg lifting and dominance. If it doesn’t try training classes
Now is the perfect time to get him neutered. You say you have had him 5 months, so I am assuming he is 6-7 months old? Perfect time to get him neutered – which cures the urge to hump in the majority of dogs.
I also do suggest enrolling in a training class, especially since you are a first time dog owner.
