When to stop feeding my puppy puppy food?
I have 2 puppies- one will be 1 year old in July and the other in December. I currently feed them the same puppy food b/c it is easier and I can’t keep them from each others food bowls. Can I feed them both puppy food until December even though the oldest will be 1 year old in July, or is this not a good idea?
Also- they are both labs.

i think you would stop when there one yr old sorry i dont know tryed my best
A year old is OK to stop the puppy food. You can just wait till the other puppy turns one if that makes it easyer for you it would not hurt to wait for both to 1 year of age.
i say yea i fed my dachshund puppy food untill he was 2yrs and im going to do the same for my american pitbull most dogs dont mature till about 1yr and 1/2 to 2yrs
usually at about a year old ..
they dnt mature till 1-2 yrs
id stop after they turn one,
i hink they have young adult dog food u could give them after ur puppy food
I would say till about 9 months or the dog reaches about 90% of it’s full size.
its fine to do that. since their actually still puppies they might need some more nutricious foods like vegetables and fruits. just dont give them onions and grapes or chocolate.
give them more optitions so they get more vitamins and grow stronger aand that way they wont get sick of the same food all the time. Good luck!!!
This will depend on what kind of dog you have.
For larger breeds, puppy food needs to stop early. For many large breeds ( GSDs and such), vets recommend no puppy food at all, to make sure that the growth remains under control.
Take the size of the breed into account, and check wiht your vet. In general, for smaller breeds, you can do puppy food longer.

They are meant to be changed at one year. It wouldn’t hurt for a few extra months though. Its just higher in fat and nutrients, so as long as the pup is active it isn’t a problem. If your really worried, you could feed them seperately. All it takes is putting them in seperate rooms at dinner and breakfast times. That way you can monitor there food intake aswell and know that one is getting the food off the other. But again, it wont hurt to be on the puppy food for a little longer.
Usually it is best to feed them a mix of both mid-life and pupy food once they are in the 10-12 month period, and then slowly ween them to the older food. Like begin to give less puppy food, and more adult, and slowly continue until they are eating just adult food. Of course I can’t be absolutely sure, and it is always best to ask your vet when the best time to take them off puppy food is, as doing so too early may be a problem.
It shouldn’t hurt the older puppy-just watch for obesity, since puppy food is typically geared more for growing bodies and the demands for such growth.
)
Regulate the amount of food fed to both-make sure they stay a healthy weight without becoming obese. You should be fine to December. Make sure you’re keeping them properly wormed, too!
I’ve raised pups APBT, and as they grew from the mother they would eat her food (which was puppy food {wink}) and start to eat dads (male) food which was adult food……….6 to 8 owners who i gave a pup/dog to say they are fine live and have a BEAUTIFUL COAT……. so maybe its about WHAT, U feed them rather than When………… I use and always used nutro max,,, to the max
1 yr old is when ya stop
