I need advice on keeping puppy out of cat food and vice versa?
I have never raised a puppy with cats before and need some advice. My cats just turned 1 year old and the puppy is about 14 weeks old. I had cats but it was a long time ago. We adopted these cats after our dog ( best friend ) of 10 years passed away. The puppy is eating the cat food and the cats are eating the puppy food HELP! The puppy is a rotty mix.

We feed our cats on the dresser or on a bathroom counter. Cat food won’t harm the pup, although it may be a little rich (and expensive!). The cats shouldn’t eat mostly dog food, as it is not balanced for them; taurine deficiency is a problem. But a bite now and then won’t hurt. Another possibility is to put a baby gate up a few inches off the floor so the cats have access to an area the dog does not. None of this will work once the pup gets large enough! Your cats are young enough to get your puppy trained right, so things should work out well. Hope it helps.
seperate your puppies food from the cat food. I mean to find different places where you can place the dish at feeding times. Hopefully this will work
