Dogs are known to be the man’s best friends for several good reasons. They are loyal, funny and fascinating. However, dogs are rather complex creatures which can flourish when they are under the responsibility of a friendly human being.

You should not take the adoption of a dog thoughtlessly; that’s why I am going to give you some important tips which will help you in the choice of this animal which will spend a good deal of time in your company.

Thus, when you are really ready to get a dog, it is necessary to ask yourself the following questions:

1. What size of dog could feel comfortable in my house?

Make sure to choose the right size of dog especially if you buy him as a puppy because dogs grow in size. The bigger a dog is the more space he needs.

2. Determine who will be responsible for taking the dog out, for his exercise and his care.

If your space is limited, choose a dog which lives well in small spaces instead of a dog used to big spaces.

    3. What is your budget for dog food?

Bigger dogs need more food. This factor can play a role in a tight budget.

      4. Be sure to know the behavior of the breed of the dog which you plan on adopting.

If you have children, it is better to choose races of dogs which get along well with children.

        5. Do you want a male or female dog?

        6. Do You Prefer a purebred or mixed-breed dog?

You will know what you buy if you choose the pedigree dog, but this one can cost you more than a mutt.

          7. And finally, do you want a puppy or a grown-up dog?

Puppies need a lot of attention, patience and some house training but they generally fit much more easily in their new home than the grown-up dogs.

Every dog has the potential of being an aggressive dog. Many believe that all dogs of a certain breed are naturally aggressive but the truth is the ones believed to be aggressive are the ones that people often train to be mean.

For an example take the pit bull. Pitt Bulls are not overly mean and aggressive by nature. In fact they can be very mild tempered and sweet dogs. However people love to train the pit bull to be a mean aggressive dog.

While you can not classify all dogs from one breed as being aggressive every dog will have its own personality. If you do find yourself with an aggressive dog you need to be careful especially if they are around children.

So what do you do if you’ve adopted an aggressive dog besides wondering “is my dog aggressive“?

Well besides getting your dog obeidience training , it actually depends on how aggressive they are and what they get aggressive about.

One of the common signs dogs exhibit is the getting down low to the ground and barking. One of the best ways to curb this type of behavior is to simply ignore your dog. The worst thing you can do is look them in the eye because by doing that you are issuing a challenge and it will turn into a game of who is in control.

Never try to grab your dog or show your dominance when this happens or it will turn into a game of who is in charge. Once it becomes a game for your dog it will be very hard to break him of doing it.

If your dog has a food aggression then it is best to stay in the same room with him while he is eating his meals. Never touch an aggressive dog while he is eating his food. Start out by just being in the same room as your dog and slowly work your way a little bit closer each meal.

Always use caution when doing this and pay close attention to the signs your dog is giving you. If he starts to get nervous or agitated then do not get any closer.

When you have a very aggressive dog the best thing you can do is to use caution when around your dog and talk to a dog trainer to get the best advice on how to handle your individual situation and to get more information on training aggressive dogs.
