What about the lethargy is it cause she has "failure to thrive"

We just had puppy #11 delivered but it was another still born. We’re having problems with the momma dog and wanted to know if it was alright to keep her seperated from the pups untill feeding time? She is producing milk and the pups are starting to get the hang of feeding but still need our help. Mom acts like a brooding chicken and keeps hording the pups. So far she has squashed 4. I want to keep them apart until feeding and clean up so she cant hurt anymore but not do any social damage. We’re down to 5 out of 11 pups. Mom doesnt care about you handlng them but she has no body awareness, often steping, laying or sitting on them. She dosent keep them all together to keep warm either. We put pups in a box w/ heating pad last niight with a shelf over the top and she sat on top the shelf untill it collasped and then squished 2. This is her first (and last) litter. She cleans them well after feeding. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!
